Traffic coming from Main Street across the tracks has right-of way, no yield or stop, so that there is no queuing up on the tracks. All other traffic must stop for this Main St outflow.- No right turn from Railroad Ave onto Main St.
- Hudson Ave northbound must have a stop sign.
- Railroad Ave must have a stop sign.
- Blinking red lights so people see the stop signs.
- Main Street southbound would have a clear right of way.
In this concept, since Main St outflow has the right of way, no traffic would be waiting on the tracks to make their turns. Once the crossing gates come down, Main St traffic is halted. Traffic waiting on the tracks is the biggest concern for both DOT and CSX, and safety is the driving force behind the push to fix the crossing.
This option has yet to be approved by DOT and CSX.

Maybe better than #3 because it would require less alteration of existing roadway and adjustments to the island where the monument and flagpole stand. That may save money up front. But the blinking red lights make it somewhat more complicated than #3 and would, I assume, have to remain in place for a long time, increasing both the long-term operating and maintenance costs and preserving another eyesore.
